My thesis project for my final year at OCADU was to create, design, and illustrate a series of obscure Brothers Grimm short stories into a box set series of three. The set of books follow three categories:

Grim (G)
A story that is clean and non-offending, a young children’s story.

Grimmer (PG)
A story that is a little more deep and adult, for pre-teens or toddlers.

Grimmest (G)
A story that is violent, bloody, and has strong adult content.
The illustrations follow suit of their category and reflect the style of its story. The layout and design of the text also reflects the stories and the corresponding illustrations.

History
The stories written and collected by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm in the 1800’s are much different then how they evolved in to the stories they are today. The originals are much more odd, outdated, violent, and cruel. I had my project showcasing the original stories (Translated into english) so that readers can experience the true stories of The Brothers Grimm, that evolved into the stories that they are today.
